Flexi-Malt® quality = advantages in malt- and brewhouse
BREUN malting barley variety LEXY was added to “Green” on the “Heineken List of approved varieties”, issued October 2024. Thereby LEXY is approved for use in the A malt blend for Heineken breweries worldwide. Another important milestone in the successful global distribution of LEXY, starting with “Berlin Program” approval 2022 in Germany, followed by the CBMO homologation in France and the Comision Mixta in Spain. Further tests in malthouses around the world have confirmed the outstanding quality for brewers and maltsters. We have summarized the properties of Flexi-Malt® in a flyer.

LEXY = “environmentally stable” variety!
By 2024, the LEXY seed multiplication area has grown to over 5000 ha in more than 15 countries with an upward trend! From an agronomic point of view, LEXY scores highly in terms of maximum yield, yield stability in different countries and climates, and resistance to drought. It is also recommended for autumn sowing in suitable regions.
